Baela ~ 2, Austin ~ 1! (My birthday babies!!!)

 Whenever Baela is asked how old she is, her response is, "Baela 2, Austin 1!"  It is so cute!  I thought that was a very appropriate title for their birthday month!

Everyone had a great time at the party!

Now, for Austin's first birthday!  We had his party at the B&B on Saturday, May 23rd (his birthday is the 22nd).

I need to hug my Mama!  There are too many people around!  (This little guy LOVES to hug!  It's the best feeling in the world!) 

Some of the other presents he received were toys, clothes, books, DVD's, swim trunks, pool toys, a wagon, and a large sum to deposit into his savings account!

Yes, my 1-year-old son has a SNOWMOBILE!!!!  Thanks Uncle Jimmy, Aunt Katie, Baela, Grandpa Jim, & Grandma Patty!!!!  (And remember, poor Baela only got a wooden name puzzle from us!!!!  Actually that's not true~ we bought her other things too, but not a SNOWMOBILE!!!!!!!!!)

A Message From Austin!

   

February Birthdays!

Yes, it's been FOREVER since I've posted!  I need to put my pictures on my laptop instead of my desktop, and maybe I'd post more often!  (Something is wrong with my network, so can't access my pictures on the laptop!) 

ANYWAY, I felt like posting today about all of the special people in my life who have February birthdays (there's a lot of them!).

Today~ Can you believe that beautiful blonde is a grandma???  HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MOM!!!  Thank you so much for all you do for us!  I am so happy that we are so close!  You are a very special person, and Baela and Austin are SO lucky to have such a wonderful GRANDMA!!  We love you so much!!!  (Here she is with her mom on my birthday at TGI Friday's last year.)

February 23rd~ Happy Birthday to my wonderful Grandpa Bob!  He is such a nice Grandpa!  We visited him (and my Grandma Bev) the other day, and he made Austin laugh so much!  We love you, Grandpa Bob!

 

February 22nd~ Happy Birthday to my beautiful step-sister Ashley!  We are so happy that you're living here now, Ashley!  We love you!

  

February 19th~ Happy Birthday, Vanessa!!  Vanessa is my step-brother's girlfriend.  She sure loves the babies!  We love you Aunt Vanessa!!! 

February 16th~  Jonathan turned 3!  Jonathan is my cousin, Joey, and his wife, Heather's little cutie!  We love you, Jonathan!

 

February 15th~ Happy Birthday to Jonathan and Eddie's Daddy, Joey!  I can still remember when Joey was a baby, and now he has 2 of his own!  Love you, Joey!

 

February 11th~ Happy 1st Birthday, Eddie!  How cool to have all of their birthdays in the same week!!  We love you, Eddie!!  (Look at those eyes!)

February 9th~  Happy Birthday, Aunt Kelly!  Kelly is my wonderful sister-in-law (and great friend!).  Austin is so lucky that he gets to spend every Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday with Aunt Kelly when Mommy and Daddy are working (Mommy and Daddy are SO lucky that Aunt Kelly loves to do this!).  We love you, AUNT KELLY!  Don't forget, Austin is waiting for another cousin!! ;)

7 Months Old!

At 7 months, Austin:

*has his first tooth (December 10th, actually).  It's one of the bottom front two.  The other bottom one came on December 27th.

*is sitting up by himself.

*is rolling over all the time.

*LOVED Christmas!  He was very spoiled, and was a good sport at all of our celebrations.  He loved his presents, but REALLY loved beating on the boxes (we think he may want to be a drummer???).

*loves to watch Barney and Baby Signing Time.

*has such a sweet, loving personality!

My high school crew!

I love getting together with my high school crew!  There are 5 couples, and we used to do this once a month, but now, unfortunately, sometimes the gatherings are a little farther apart!  When we are all together, as the Murphy kids pointed out tonight, there are 10 adults and 11 kids!  We always have a lot of fun at these get-togethers!  Tonight we were at Chris and Pat Murphy's in Byron.

Happy Thanksgiving!

We had a very nice Thanksgiving!  We went to Trish and Larry's around noon.  We had a great time there!  Aunt Kelly and Uncle Brent gave Austin a cute Thanksgiving card.

We also had a little "wedding party" for Kevin's cousin, Bobby and his fiance, Leigh, who are getting married next week in Jamaica!

 

 

This was really nice, especially since most of us (unfortunately!) won't be in Jamaica with them for the big day!

My Aunt Lisa's nativity scene.  My mom found something very nice to read to remember Aunt Lisa on Thanksgiving.  We all miss her very much, and I still can't believe she's gone.  Baela kept looking at the baby in the manger!

I hope all of you had a wonderful Thanksgiving!  We are very grateful to have so many wonderful people in our family, and lots of great friends!

6 Months!

I took Austin to his 6-month appointment today.  In addition to his vaccines, he also got the first half of the flu shot (he goes back in a month to get the second half).  Austin was very good and only cried for a little while after getting his shots. 

 

At 6 months, Austin:

*weighs 17.8 pounds

*is 27 1/4 inches long

*isn't quite sure what sleeping through the night means!

*rolled over from his back to his stomach (of course he did this a few hours after we got home from his doctor's appt., where I told Dr. Nan that he was working on it, but wasn't quite rolling over yet!)

*is really getting into his toys!

*loves his cousin, Baela! 

*loves to jump in his Galloping Jumparoo!

*is starting to pay attention to TV.  He really likes the "Pajanimals" song "I love to love my lovie"!

*makes even this "not-a-morning-person-Mama" happy to get up everyday!

 

*is starting to enjoy these photo-shoots more!

  

  

Special congrats to our neighbors, Shane and April, who welcomed their baby girl, Zada into the world!  We went to visit them tonight.

   

Look at her GORGEOUS nursery!  Mommy works at Ingrassia, and is a WONDERFUL decorator!  (Their whole house is beautiful!)

SOLID FOODS!!!

I'm very proud of meeting my goal of not starting Austin on solid foods until 6 months.  We started with plain rice cereal today.

We were told to wait a week until we start something new.  Next, we're moving on to sweet potatoes!  YUMMY!

Miscellaneous

On November 5th, I went to Lino's with some of the girls from Captured Moments.  I can't believe that the store is closed!  Captured Moments (and the people there!) has been a part of my life since it opened almost 10 years ago!  I will really miss going to the store, and hope to stay in touch with everyone!  *Thanks for dinner, Laurie!

 

Grandma and Grandpa Lindell bought a highchair for their house for Austin (and future grandkids!).  Even though he isn't eating solid foods yet, he loved sitting in it while we ate dinner!  Our little guy is getting so big!
